Obituary for Amos Hendricks

Amos “Moose” Hendricks, 92 died Wednesday March 25, at home in Lambertville, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Stockton in 1928, Amos resided in Lambertville for the past 59 years. Amos worked for his father’s business and later joined the Plumbers and Steamfitters Union, Local 9, as a master plumber for over 50 years. He served in the United States Navy, was a member of the Toscanni American Legion Post # 120, the Lambertville VFW Post # 7921, the Lambertville Moose, Elks and YMAC. Amos was also a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Lambertville. Amos was one of the founding members of the Lambertville Ramblers Football League, he also coached baseball and basketball for the Lambertville Youth Baseball and Basketball Associations. He was a Life member of the Lambertville-New Hope Rescue Squad and competed on three World Championship Heavy Rescue Teams. Amos was an avid sportsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing football, golf, ice hockey, and basketball. Every summer he would head to Canada with his sons and group of friends for the annual fishing adventure. That being said, what happens in Canada, stays in Canada. Above all, Amos was a family man devoted to his beloved wife, Nancy, their 10 children, 27 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Son of the late Harold and Ruth Armitage Hendricks, widower of Nancy Jane Hendricks, who died in 2002 and brother of the late Virginia R. Fennimore and late H. Wesley Hendricks he is survived by his two Brothers-in-law Stephen McGuire (son Steve McGuire and Julie Von Uffel) and Peter (wife Gail daughters Megan & Jessie) McGuire, his 10 children, Michael Richard Hendricks and his wife Gail, Mary Jo Gorman and her husband Jerome, David A. Hendricks, Thomas S Hendricks and his wife Dawn, John J Hendricks and his wife Liz, Amy Campbell and her husband Robert, Nora Marley and her husband Dan, Judith Latham and her husband, George, Virginia McKevitt and her husband Jack, Terrance Hendricks and his wife Kelly, 27 grandchildren, Michael Hendricks Jr., Jen Hafer and her husband Chris, Abigail Hendricks, Taylor Hendricks, Mathew Gorman and his wife Maria, Duane Hendricks, Lisa Hendricks and her husband Ken, Tom Hendricks Jr., Rebecca Hendricks, Katie Perry and her husband Spencer, Tricia Weinstock and her husband Keith, Brianne Hendricks, Jake Hendricks, Kaylin Campbell, Kyle Campbell, Victoria Marley, Daniel Marley Jr., Emily Marley, Amos Marley, Erin Marley, Geoffrey Latham, Sarah Latham, Jack McKevitt, Jr., Madison McKevitt, Kylie McKevitt, Keira Hendricks, Madeline Hendricks and 8 great grandchildren Austin & Christopher Hafer, Gavin Hendricks, Miracle and Dameon Hendricks, Nicholas Hendricks, Michaela Perry, and Mason Hendricks. Amos is also survived by his nephews Fred (Marsha) Fennimore, Frank (Marianne) Fennimore, Lee (Lorraine Hendricks) and Wes (Bambi) Hendricks and their families. Funeral services will be private. A celebration of life will announced at a later date.
