West Amwell Twp. Carolyn Floyd Deal, 91, passed away Sunday September 29 at her home. Born and raised in Ewing Twp., Carolyn moved to W. Amwell Twp. in 1958. Carolyn was a musician, photographer, educator, scout leader, and former township committee member and mayor, who gave many hours of service and touched many lives. Carolyn earned a Master's from Drew University and Bachelor's from TCNJ. She founded the New Jersey Educators of Gifted and Talented, served as a leader and board member for the Rolling Hills Girl Scout Council, and was an active member of the Delaware Valley Music Club. Carolyn taught music, was an elementary school librarian, and started Gifted and Talented programs in three area elementary schools. She was a very active member of the Second English Presbyterian Church of Amwell in Mt. Airy which she considered her church family. Daughter of the late Dewey and Anne Floyd and widow of Joseph Deal who passed away in 1999, she is survived by one daughter Robin Deal and her husband John Dale, one son Jeffry Deal and his wife Kristen, granddaughters Lindsay Ambler and husband Robert and Tirah Miquel and husband Ryan, three grandsons Evan Dale and his wife Tatiana, Garret Deal, and Sean Dale and his fiancé Melanie Rosenthal, and three great grandchildren Noah, Ayla Miquel and Serenity Ambler and one sister Joan McConnell of Houston Tx. A memorial service will be held Saturday Nov. 2 at 11:00 am at the Second English Presbyterian Church of Amwell, 37 Mt. Airy Village Rd., Lambertville, NJ 08530.
