Delaware Twp.: Charles Raymond Solt, 93, a well known artist passed away Friday March 1, at his home.   Born in Ohio Charles graduated from Wayne State University in Detroit where he earned a master’s degree in fine art.  After creating exhibits for an historical museum in Dearborn Michigan he took a position working at the Science and Natural History Museum at Florida State University. Years later he was offered a designer position at Lenox Pottery in Trenton where he spent 22 years and retired as the supervisor of surface as well as dimensional shape design.  Under his guidance the company produced china for President’s Reagan, Carter and Nixon. He also was involved in the designs of the Boehm bird series and the Christmas wreath plates.  Later in life he began needlepoint artistry which he enjoyed tremendously. He considered that work to be the jewel in the crown of his talents.   Son of the late Francis and Thelma Solt, he is survived by his partner Kenneth Stein.    Services will be private under the direction of the Garefino Funeral Home in Lambertville.
