Obituary for David C Wood

West Amwell Twp.: David Courtland Wood, 78, passed away peacefully at home on October 9, 2021.

He was born in Doylestown and raised in Lumberville and New Hope and has been a resident of West Amwell for the most of the past 48 years. Surviving is his beloved wife of 52 years Brenda Nuneviller Wood; his sons, Jeffrey and Jason (Cheryl); and his four grandchildren: Sydney, Allison, Travis and Trajan Wood. He is also survived by his sister Emily Venettone (Gene) and his niece Mary L. Venettone (Randi).

He is predeceased by his parents Courtland Morris Wood and Louise Marie Wood.

Dave was a graduate of New Hope Solebury High School Class of 1961 and Albright College in 1966 with a degree in Physics. He was employed as a supervising engineer at the Naval Air Warfare Center in Trenton for 32 years. He is a lifetime member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineer (IEEE).

Dave and Brenda were inseparable and loving partners who enjoyed camping and traveling. They traveled extensively through the United States camping with their close friends and visiting relatives at family reunions. They always looked forward to spending a week at the Jersey Shore with family and friends.

Dave was a member of the Mt. Airy Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder and chaired various committees. He was also a member of the West Amwell Senior Citizens, and was formerly a drummer with the Lambertville Drum and Bugle Corps.

Dave loved attending the events of his children and grandchildren, including dance recitals, plays, basketball, baseball, field hockey and football. He also enjoyed tending to his lawn and doing outdoor improvements.

Calling hours will be Thursday, October 14 from 6-8pm at the Garefino Funeral Home, 12 N Franklin St. Lambertville, NJ. Graveside services will be held privately.
