Obituary for Dorothy "Dottie" Holcombe
New Hope, Pa: Dorothy "Dottie" Holcombe, 85 died Monday, March 15, 2021 at Neshaminy Manor Care Center.
Born and raised in Carversville, Pa. Dottie lived for a number of years in Horsham, and most recently in New Hope. She worked as a bookkeeper for Mohawk Electric for over twenty years. Dottie saw the good in everyone and her kind personality made people want to be close to her. She always made it a point to donate to various groups that cared for animals. She loved connecting with the community at Carversville Church at their annual Oyster & Pork Supper. As well she loved watching football and cheering for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. She was a loving mother and great friend, an avid outdoorswoman who loved fishing and an accomplished athlete in her early years. She obtained her pilot’s license at a time not many women did. She was a true Renaissance woman. She had been there, done it all and done it great.
Widow of Ernie Holcombe, she is survived by her children Jamie Holcombe and his wife Jessica, Jacob Holcombe and his wife Kristen, daughter Jennifer Thistle and her husband Brian, and Ernest “Tom” Holcombe Jr. and his wife Marianne, and her grandchildren David, Hannah, and Hudson Holcombe, Jacob Holcombe, Braelyn Thistle and Samantha Sheridan. She was also mother to the late Hal Holcombe and grandmother to the late Casey Holcombe.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, March 23 at 11:00 am at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, Lambertville. Visitation will be Monday, March 22 from 6-8 pm at the Garefino Funeral Home, 12 N. Franklin St. Lambertville, NJ.
