Obituary for James G Wicks

James G. Wicks, 76 passed away suddenly on Thursday August 18, 2022 at Care One in Bound Brook.

Jim was born and raised in Lambertville moving to Kingwood Twp. in 1980. In 1967 he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps serving during the Vietnam War until 1973 being honorably discharged as a Sargent and being awarded the Silver Star and the Purple Heart. He was very proud of his military service and had been a member of the Toscanni American Legion Post # 120 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Lambertville. He retired after 36 years from Johnson and Johnson’s Ethicon Division as a surgical instrument technician.

Jim enjoyed his home on seven acers in Kingwood, gardening, splitting wood, smoking his pipe, drinking beer, watching all the wildlife especially the deer when sitting in his jacuzzi. His life revolved being around his family, the love he shared with all of them and he always looked forward to the Tettemer family reunions that were a yearly event.

He is survived by his children Jamie Wicks, Tammy Kaminski and her husband Ian, Rhonda Wicks and Kelly Wicks, his grandchildren Jacob Wicks, Morgan Carter, Meghan Wicks, Logan Hewitt, Krystal Wicks and his great grandchildren Gannon Garland, Ace and Zane Gilling.

Burial with United States Marine Corps Honors will take place privately at a future date at Arlington National Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday August 25, from 6 – 8 pm at the Garefino Funeral Home, 12 N. Franklin St. Lambertville, NJ.
