Lambertville: John W. Hurley, Sr., 79, passed away Thursday October 14,
2021 at the Hunterdon Medical Center.

John was a lifelong resident of Lambertville and was well known in the
community. He was a life member of the Lambertville-New Hope Rescue
Squad and a member of its World Championship Heavy Rescue Team. In
earlier years before joining the rescue squad he belonged to the Union Fire
Co. John retired from the Insulators and Asbestos Workers Union Local
#89 in Trenton with over 25 years of employment. John enjoyed hunting,
fishing trips to Canada, and golfing. He also loved traveling with his family.

Son of the late John and Marion Marriott Hurley, he is survived by his wife
of 58 years Joan Santillo Hurley, his son John Hurley, Jr. and his wife
Caroline, his daughter Carol Voorhees and her husband Randy, and his
three loving grandchildren, Ryan and Kaitlin Hurley and Sarah Voorhees.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 am at the Garefino Funeral
Home, 12 N. Franklin St. Lambertville. Burial will be private. Calling hours
will be Monday from 5-8 pm at the funeral home.
