John E. Meskill, Jr. 86 died Sunday March 15, at Arden Court Care Center in Yardley, Pa. Born in Trenton and raised in Lambertville, John raised his family in Delaware Twp. and then resided in Lawrenceville. A member of St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, John had retired in 1978 from the NJ Department of Transportation with 26 years of employment as a garage foreman and supervisor. John was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a past member of the Lambertville-New Hope Rescue Squad. Son of the late John E. Meskill, Sr. and Helen Hunt Meskill and widower of Lorraine Meskill who died in 1966, and brother of the late Robert Meskill, he is survived by four daughters, Barbara Hodgdon and her husband Bernard, Mary Patricia McAlpin and her husband Michael, Katherine Kilmartin and her husband Thomas, Jacqueline Chmielewski, two sons James R. Meskill and his wife Jennifer, John E Meskill, III, his grandchildren, Stephen, Nicolas, Natalie, Kimberly, Bradley, Caitlin, James Jr., Erica, Anna, his great grandchildren, Kody, Decklan, Bannon, Corran, Ryan and James R. III. Due to the public health concerns surrounding the corona virus, a Mass of Christian Burial will be announced and celebrated at a later date.
