Obituary for Larry A Grawe
Larry A. Grawe, 78, of Solebury PA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday October 5, 2022.
Born in Richmond, IN, Larry had lived in Solebury Township since 1962. After graduating from New Hope-Solebury School, he enlisted in United States Army National Guard serving in Vietnam. Following his time in the Army, he began his career as a Police Officer rising to the rank of Corporal with the Solebury Township Police Department, being employed from June 17, 1967 until his retirement on September 30, 2006. Post police retirement, he obtained his CDL and became a school bus driver for Central Bucks and, most recently, New Hope-Solebury school districts. Larry was an active member for over 35 years of the New Hope American Legion Post 79 and served as their cook where he loved to carve the smoked pig for the annual
Legion picnic.
Larry was a motorcycle enthusiast and belonged to the Blue Knights International Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club PA Chapter II where he held multiple titles and most recently secretary. Larry enjoyed sitting on his porch watching the abundance of wildlife and colorful sunsets. Fishing and hunting were beloved hobbies that he enjoyed during his life. Larry thoroughly enjoyed cooking and especially grilling for his family and friends.
Son of the late Arthur V. and Jessie Rosefield Grawe, he is survived by his wife of 43 years Rebecca Livezey Grawe, his son Larry Grawe Jr. and his fiancé Laura Dobrowolski, his daughter Melissa Kraus and her husband Sean, his three granddaughters Leah, Vanessa, and Andrea Kraus and several nieces, nephews.
Calling hours will be Tuesday October 11, 2022 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Carversville Christian Church, 3736 Aquetong Road, Carversville, PA 18913. The American Legion services will take place Tuesday evening at 7:30 pm. Funeral services will be held Wednesday October 12, 2022 at 11:00 am at the Carversville Christian Church and burial to follow in the Church Cemetery. Additional calling hours to be held Wednesday from 10:00 am until the time of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Solebury Township P.B.A. P.O. Box 339, Solebury, PA 18963 C/O Larry A. Grawe Scholarship fund.
