Obituary for Marie D Cook

W. Amwell Twp. Marie Gaynor Cook, 88 died peacefully, Tuesday April 26 at her son Michael’s home.

Born and raised in Lambertville Marie had lived in W. Amwell Twp. for the past five years. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church in Lambertville and had worked as a home health aide. An avid gardener, lover of birds and talented oil paint artist, a member of the Tinicum Civic Association and Marie was extremely fond of her cat Chloe.

Daughter of the late Thomas W. Gaynor and Melitta Bohr Gaynor, widow of Donald B. Cook, mother of the late Eugene “Herbie” Haldeman and mother-in-law of Alice Haldeman, she is survived by her son Michael K. Haldeman, her daughter Tammy M. Haldeman and her husband James E. Lawrence, three grandchildren, James Lelie, Brittany Waldrop and her husband Jeremy, Melissa Merkel and her great granddaughter Everly Alice Waldrop and other extended family members.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday September 17 at 11:30 am at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Bridge St. Lambertville. Visitation will be Saturday September 17 at the Garefino Funeral Home from 10:00 to 11:00 am.
