Marion Carroll DeHaven, 93, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, June 29, 2019 surrounded by her children. She was born in Brooklyn, NY on February 7, 1926 and resided in Richmond Hill, NY through her young adulthood and graduated from St. Benedict Joseph Labre Grammar School and Richmond Hill High School. She was employed by New York Telephone. She lived in West Amwell Twp. for 52 years before moving to Ocean Twp. 4 years ago. Marion was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church for over 50 years and served as a Eucharistic Minister. She volunteered with Hunterdon County Meals on Wheels and along with her husband was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, Princeton Chapter. She was an accomplished seamstress and a longtime member of the Hopewell Valley Golf Club and the Hunterdon County YMCA. Marion was predeceased by her devoted husband of 58 years, William Francis DeHaven in 2008. Also predeceased by her parents, Agnes and James Carroll, her siblings and their spouses, Margaret and John Bracken, James and Cecilia Carroll, Kathryn and James Healy, Agnes and John Leahy, Vincent and Elizabeth Carroll; and her very dear friend Rita Skeuse. Survived by her six children and their spouses, William and Susan DeHaven, James and Lecia DeHaven, Kathryn and Anthony Chambrovich, Hugh and Cornelia DeHaven, Kevin and Jane DeHaven, Sean and Jill DeHaven, 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, her sisters-in-law, Marguerite and Edward Riordan, and Constance Schaeffer and many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by her nephew, Rev. Monsignor John J. Bracken, on Wednesday July 3 at 12 Noon at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, 44 Bridge St, Lambertville. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday July 2 from 4-7 pm at Garefino Funeral Home, 12 N. Franklin St, Lambertville. In lieu of flowers, please honor our Mother with a Mass of Remembrance.
