Maureen Elizabeth Morton, 65, passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at St. Barnabas Hospital in Livingston, New Jersey. A very special person, her “joie de vivre” was silenced by Covid-19.
Born in Manhasset, Long Island, Maureen enjoyed a wonderful life from her school days at Mt. St. Mary’s McCauley School, in Plainfield, New Jersey to her work at Pathmark Stores in north Jersey. She enjoyed traveling domestically and internationally to destinations of Hawaii, California, the mid- West, and Florida, as well as Great Britain, Italy, the Caribbean, and Canada. Always ready to celebrate with family and friends, Maureen delighted in offering, “Cheers!” while raising a glass of her favorite white Zinfandel.
Daughter of the late Harry and Claire Egan Morton and sister of the late Patricia Morton, she is survived by one sister Florence Morton and one brother Harry Morton.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday January 19th at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in New Rochelle, New York under the direction of the Garefino Funeral Home, Lambertville, New Jersey. A memorial Mass will be scheduled later in the year at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, New Hope, Pennsylvania.
Love saturated Maureen, both in giving and receiving. Consistent with the graciousness with which she lived each day, her final expressed sentiment was, “Thank you.”
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, 1 Riverstone Circle, New Hope, Pa. 18938, or Our House Inc., 76 Floral Ave., Murray Hill NJ, 07974.
