Obituary for Maureen Williams
Point Pleasant. PA: Maureen M. Williams, 77, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at her home.
A graduate of Camden Catholic High School, Maureen worked as a Bell Telephone operator to supplement her scholarship to Douglass College. She raised her children in Solebury Township, PA, where she resided from 1973 until 2000, before moving to Arizona. She returned to Point Pleasant in 2012 to be close to her children. Maureen spent much of her career in the publishing industry and, at the time of her death, worked as an advertising agent for the Taylor & Francis Group in Philadelphia.
Daughter of the late Joseph N. and Rita Brown Malone, mother of the late Timothy P. Williams, she is survived by her daughter Kerry A. Williams, her son Chris Williams, her long-time partner George Putnam, her two sisters, Patricia Malone and Monica Malone, her nephew Andrew Lookingbill, and her niece Catherine Oikonomou.
A private memorial service will be held for family and friends.
Maureen was a loyal supporter of many nonprofits including Bucks County civic organizations, cultural organizations, her children’s alma maters, and a variety of charities supporting people in need. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to an organization of the donor’s choosing.
