Marion Joan "Mikie" Edwards, 86 passed away Sunday April 26, 2020 at the Doylestown Hospital. Born December 7, 1933, Mikie was a lifelong resident of Lambertville, and was proud to say that she had lived on almost every street in town during the course of her life, but once she and her husband of 64 years. Choc moved on to Buttonwood Street she found the most important place in life to her, her home. Throughout her 50+ years on the street she befriended every neighbor she encountered and her constant presence greeting everyone while sitting on her porch will be missed. Any of her neighbors would say that she could always be counted on to take care of a house or pet sit while they were away. She also made it her business to teach a few generations of Buttonwood Street kids how to swim in her pool as she wanted them to be safe, and as so many of the Tettemer cousins have pointed out, she was the family barber for them when they were young. She was a great Mom, but by far her favorite role in life was that of "Gram-mom" to her grandchildren. Every day spent babysitting or hanging out with any of her grandchildren was one of the best days ever as far as she was concerned. She spent many years volunteering for any and all events held in Lambertville from serving banquets at the Rescue Squad or one of the firehouses to grilling for decades at the Shad Festival in the town she adored. She often enjoyed saying that she wore many hats throughout her life. Mikie loved her years of driving a bus for SHR, and had documented her many unique experiences in a memoir she shared with family and friends titled, "My Years on Crazy 8". During her summers off she pursued her passion for house painting, and many homes in Lambertville benefited from her skills throughout the years. She also enjoyed sign painting and at one time several businesses and organizations in town had a hand crafted sign that she fashioned from start to finish. A Former Majorette for the Lambertville Drum and Bugle Corps; Founding Member and long time Head Coach of the Lambertville Girls Softball League; Lambertville Rescue Squad Auxiliary member; Columbia and Union Fire Company Auxiliary member; four term Lambertville Public School Board member; American Legion Auxiliary Member and long time bartender; Founding Member and Manager of the Lambertville American Legion Women's Softball Team; selected as honored Graduate by Lambertville High School Alumni Association; and chosen by her beloved neighbors as the unofficial "Mayor of Buttonwood Street".  Daughter of the late Titus Tettemer, Sr. and Beatrice Doan Tettemer and sister of the late Dorothy Heater, Caroline Palmer, William Tettemer; Titus Tettemer, Jr., her twin brother, Marvin Tettemer and Cleon Tettemer, she is survived by her husband Donald “Choc” Edwards, her son Donald Edwards Jr., and his wife, Christine, her daughter Karen Sharp and her husband, Michael, one brother Robert Tettemer and his wife, Joyce, one sister Nancy Clark and her husband, James , her grandchildren: Jessica Miller and husband, Jeffrey,  Stephen, Aili, Aiden, and Austin Edwards, Meredith and Jarrett Sharp, and Lauren Wood, special friend Barbara and her husband Bruce Wood and many wonderful nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held in her honor at a later date as social distancing would not have been a concept that she could have adhered to, and so Choc has made the decision to wait to celebrate her life once Lambertvillians are able to greet each other from less than 6 feet away and without a face mask or gloves.
