Obituary for Richard J "Mouse" Liggett

Stockton: Richard J. “Mouse” Liggett passed away at his home on June 25, 2021 surrounded by his loving family after a period of declining health.

Richard was born and raised in Lambertville, NJ on August 15, 1953. After getting married he lived in Hopewell before settling in Stockton NJ.

Richard was a plumber for 35 years with Liggett Plumbing & Heating retiring in 2009. He loved fishing, boating and camping-just being outside was his thing. He enjoyed taking care of his home and yard and he could build or fix just about anything and took pride in his work. His greatest enjoyment was walking and biking along the D& R Canal path as well as exploring new parks and trails. He was out there every day with his trusted companions, his dogs Casey, Buddy and later Chaz….often walking for miles as well as biking with his wife.

Son of the late John P. and Emily C. Liggett and brother of the late John P. Liggett of Mt. Airy, Louis P. Liggett of Lambertville, Barbara Erickson of Lehighton Pa., and Patsey Lesley of Denver CO., he is survived by his wife of 41 years, Reverend Susan Marie, his uncle Paul Santini of Mt. Airy, his sister Theresa Liggett of Ocala FL., and sister in law Michelle Silvestri of Harrisburg, NC as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and great and great great nieces and nephews.

At Richard’s request there will be no calling hours. Funeral arrangements are extremely private at the family’s choosing. If you wish to honor his memory, go for a long walk and know he may be there with you.
