Richard John Schaible, 52, of West Amwell Township, NJ, died peacefully on Friday, April 5, 2019 at Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ, surrounded by his loving family. Born August 24, 1966, in Trenton, NJ, he was a lifelong resident of West Amwell Township. A 1984 graduate of South Hunterdon Regional High School, he then attended Rider University, graduating magna cum laude . Rich worked for more than 26 years at PSEG, most recently as a Distribution Business Team Leader and an Outage Management System Lead. He was a proud member of the PSEG family, always willing to do emergency duty and to mentor younger employees. Rich enjoyed spending time at home, and he also pursued many hobbies. One of his greatest enjoyments was owning and operating an apiary. Honey bees became a large part of Richard’s life. He was constantly learning more about the bees, their activities, and their effects upon the environment. He had several hives. He was a member of Amwell Outdoors Gun Club, the Mt. Airy Sportsmen Club, and the Open Space Committee of West Amwell Township. Rich was a Master Mason with Orpheus Lodge #137, F. & A.M., and enjoyed membership in the Sons of the American Legion (Lambertville) and the Northwest New Jersey Local Beekeepers Association. He was also an avid fan of Philadelphia’s professional sports teams. Son of the late Robert and Elise Schaible and brother of the late David Schaible, he is survived by his wife, Gayle McCloughan Schaible, two daughters and a son-in-law, Jessica and Fred Fennimore Jr. and Karlie Schaible, a brother, Mick Schaible, a granddaughter, Sydney Fennimore, and many dear friends. Family and friends will be received on Saturday, April 13, 2019 from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at the Lambertville-New Hope Ambulance & Rescue Squad, 70 Alexander Avenue, Lambertville, NJ 08530.  A celebration of life service will take place beginning at 4:00 p.m. Following the service, everyone is invited to stay and join with the family for a time of refreshments and continued fellowship. Interment will be private in the family plot at Mt. Airy Cemetery at a later date.   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Northwest New Jersey Local Beekeepers Association, c/o Jim Schmalz, 38 Haines Road, Stockton, NJ 08559.
