Robert Joseph Smallacombe passed away Saturday, February 22 at his home in Hobe Sound, Florida. He was 86. Father of the late Robert Alban Smallacombe and James Fitzpatrick Smallacombe, he is survived by his wife Kathleen Smallacombe, sons Daniel and Andrew Smallacombe, daughters Melissa Smallacombe (Sean Egan) and Maggi Hill, brother Leonard Smallacombe and sister Sandy Bordeau, daughter-in-law, Patricia Stern Smallacombe and 13 grandchildren; Sarah, Ryan, Alex, Jennifer, Braden, Kerry, Steven, Drew, Timothy, Rebecca, Conor, Dylan, Anna, Nathaniel , Hayden,  Charlie, Henry, Jaxsen, great grandsons Abram, Rockwell and Jameson, several nieces, nephews and his step-sons Matthew and Howard Shervin. Bob was a very successful businessman prior to his retirement, and CEO and President of several companies in trouble that he helped to turn around. He was a member of the Young President’s Organization (YPO),an organization with a membership of 28,000 in more than 130 countries; where, to qualify, you had to have become the President or CEO before the age of 45 of a corporation of significance with a minimum revenue and minimum number of employees. In his retirement, Bob was active in supporting local animal rescues and sharing his vast business acumen with family, friends, and former colleagues. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 28th at 10:30 am at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 44 Bridge Street in Lambertville NJ. Following the funeral mass the United States Marine Corps will provide Military Funeral Honors in Rocky Hill Cemetery on Montgomery Avenue followed by a reception to celebrate his life.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Hobe Sound Animal Protection League, PO Box 1693, Palm City, Fl. 34994.
