Obituary for Samuel C Marriott

Lambertville:  Samuel C. Marriott, 92 passed away Sunday March 22 with his family at his side in the house where he was born. A lifelong resident of Lambertville, Sam was the son of the late Samuel S. and Mary Parrish Marriott, brother of the late Vera Naylor, Marion Hurley, James Marriott, Richard Marriott and father in law to the late Pete Woolsey, he is survived by his wife of 69 years Bertha Hagaman Marriott, one son Samuel C. Marriott, II and his wife Carol, three daughters, Kathy Ent and her husband Jeff, Shirley Skillman and her husband Eddie, and Joy Woolsey. Sam was blessed with eight grandchildren, Samuel C. Marriott, III and his wife Angela Marriott, Robert Marriott and his wife Ryann, Joseph Ent, Samantha Clark and her husband Joe, EJ Skillman and his wife Jennifer, Brian Skillman and his wife Dana, Peter Woolsey II, Kate Woolsey, and his seven great grandchildren, Addison, Gavin, Evan, Chase, Anna, Landon and Wyatt. Sam owned and operated S.C Marriott Inc., that delivered home heating oil and coal, S. & B. Petroleum and was co owner of Marriott’s Texaco Station all in Lambertville for many years.  A Life Member of the Union Fire Company #1, Sam belonged to the Lambertville-New Hope Rotary Club, the Lambertville Elks Lodge, the Odd Fellows Lodge, and the Hunterdon County Fuel Merchants Association. Sam enjoyed  spending time with his grand and great grandchildren and traveling all over the world with his wife Bert and special friends brought joy to Sam’s life. A graveside service will be held privately.   In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Lambertville New Hope Rescue Squad, PO Box 237, Lambertville NJ 08530 or the Union Fire Co.
