Obituary for Victor H Rose

W. Amwell Twp.: Victor H. Rose, 92 died Monday March 2, at the Hunterdon Medical Center after a brief illness. Born in Trenton, Victor had lived in W. Amwell Twp. for the past 34 years. He served in the United States Navy during WW II, was a member of the Toscanni American Legion Post # 120, the Lambertville VFW Post # 7921, the Lambertville Moose, Elks and YMAC. For many years Victor served as Chaplin for the American Legion and served on various committees within these organizations. Victor served in the New Jersey National Guard under Col. Walter Foran. He severed as a member of the honor guard that marched in the annual Memorial Day parade in addition to being a longtime volunteer at Holcombe-Jimison Farmstead and Museum and coordinated the annual Easter Egg Hunt for Lambertville through the Combined Charities Organization for over 60 years. Victor was also a member of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Lambertville. Son of the late Charles and Bertha Godown Rose, and widower of Marie Abrams Rose who died in 1998, he is survived by three daughters, Victoria A. Rose and her husband Robert Gurry, Theresa Rose Lear, Coleen Ruggieri and her husband John, one son Christopher Rose and his wife Patricia Ann, six grandchildren, Brendan Gurry, Liam Gurry, Austen Lear, Kaleena Lear Mascola, Jessica Rose Dillon and Adrianna Ruggieri and eight great grandchildren, Mason & Ryan Gurry, Nick and Natalie Gurry, Austen and Brayden Lear, Nolen and Ryker Mascola. Funeral services will be private with a celebration of Victor’s life being held at a later date.
