Obituary for Warren J "Jake" Tumler

Warren J. Tumler was born on June 12, 1939 in Lambertville, NJ. Jake (as he was known to everyone) passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side on April 12, 2022 after a long battle with cancer.

After attending Lambertville High School, he joined the Army and was deployed to Germany. Discharged in 1963 he began his career as an Insulating Mechanic for Local 89 in Trenton, NJ retiring in August 1996. Throughout his life he was an avid outdoorsman that loved to hunt and fish. One of his favorite pastimes was spending time at his cabin and stocking fish at Penn’s Creek. He was an active member of many clubs and associations: Whitetail Gun Club, Mt. Airy Sportsman’s Club, Union County Sportsman Club, National Rifle Association, the Lambertville Elks, American Legion Post 120 Lambertville and the Lambertville Moose Lodge. His greatest joy was his family. A loving husband to his wife Roni of 60 years, a wonderful dad to his 3 children, a much loved father-in-law and was lovingly referred to as Poppy by his 5 granddaughters and 4 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his father Anthony Joseph Tumler, his mother Violet Johnson, and his son Robert “Bobby” Tumler. He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Veronica (Roni) Tumler; his daughter Lisa Schell and her husband Harry; his son Brian Tumler and his wife Barbara; his grandchildren Rebecca Violante (Mike), Megan Bowers (Tyler), Melissa Andress (Ryan), Brooke Tumler and Briana Tumler; his great-grandchildren, Henry and Harry Violante, Jake and Joelle Bowers; his sister Kim Anderson (Dean).

It was Jake’s wish not to have any memorial services. Memorial contributions may be made in Jake’s memory to the Union County Sportsman’s Club Trout Stocking Program, 50 Sportsman’s Club Lane, Millmont, Pa. 17845.
