Obituary for William A. "Bill" Stahl Sr.

William Albert Stahl, Sr, 96 passed away Friday May 13, 2022 at his son’s
home in Gilbertsville, Pa.

Born and raised in Bangor, Pa. Bill moved to Pottstown after raising his family in Lambertville. As a young man he belonged to a quartette playing the violin and enjoyed flying radio-controlled airplanes and was a member
of the Mercer County Radio Control Club as a young father. He also coached Little League Baseball teams that his son Bill played on. Bill served in the Airforce after graduating from Lambertville High School.
For 35 years he worked as a machinist for Westinghouse Lamp Division in Trenton. Bill was an avid Philadelphia Phillies and Flyers Fan. In his older years, Bill’s son-in- law Mike would tape the Phillies games for him so he would watch they over and over again. Watching them was a highlight of his day and would always ask “Are the Phillies on today? Bill also was a member of the F & AM Masonic Lodge in Stockton. He loved playing “500 RUMMY with his daughter Karen. They played every night. Bill loved his ice cream, cookies & cake. His daughter-in-law Valerie was sure to make something for him when he visited. Even if he was full from dinner – there was always room for Ice Cream! Lexi was his four-legged companion at the Hamann household. She was always by his side.

Poppy as his family called him, was the son of the late Ralph Stahl and Irene Snyder Stahl and widower of Dorothy Shepherd Stahl, and brother-in- law of the late Bill Claus. He is survived by his daughter Karen Hamann and her husband Mike, his son William A. Stahl, Jr. (Bill) and his wife Valerie, his five grandchildren, Lauren Stahl, Danielle Myers and her husband Brian, Alissa Stahl, Mark Hamann and his wife Michelle, Eric
Hamann and his wife Laura, his eight great grandchildren Alexis, Chase, Preston, Eric, Jr., Jack, Aiden, Austin, Ava and his two sisters Diane Claus, Nancy Gilliland and her husband Stan, and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday May 21, 2022 at 3:00 pm at the Garefino Funeral Home, 12 N. Franklin St. Lambertville. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm until the time of the service. There will be a Masonic service
at 2:45 pm. Burial will follow in the Holcombe-Riverview Cemetery, Delaware Twp.
